In addition, Flatwater Foundation produces non-traditional events, partnerships in the fitness and health community, and relationships in the mental health community to make sure people see the importance of mental health when coping with a diagnosis.

I created this standup paddling promotional graphic for a benefit announcement for MirMir, a premium photo booth experience with an emphasis on brand marketing. It was used across social media and also in print promotion.

Logo & Branding

Website

I created this landing page design for Allies Against Slavery, an Austin-based advocacy organization dedicated to helping communities create solutions to human trafficking and modern slavery. An in-depth description of the work can be read by visiting Heart of the Sun.

The branding and logo I created for Lighthouse, their victim identification software tool appears on this page.

Texas Monthly Magazine

I designed this strategic messaging framework content for Heart of the Sun for Texas Monthly, a multi-channel media brand which tells the stories of the people, places, and culture of Texas, while documenting the everchanging Texas experience.

Their stories are elemental to the state of Texas, but they matter nationally, as reflections of the humans experience.

Treehouse x Nest

Digital marketing initiatives I created for HOTS client TreeHouse, a home upgrade company dedicated to making homes sustainable and energy efficient. This material was used to help launch the Smart Home Installation Service powered by Nest and Google.

This work included customer research, the creation of brand identity, and print advertising through vehicle wraps, out of home, and magazine ads.

Modern chair design

This chair was created under the direction of Professor Randall Wilson at Otis College of Art + Design as part of the Industrial Design BFA curriculum. Heavily inspired by WWII tank design and the Bauhaus Modernist movement, the aim of the project was to utilize modern machinery and materials like plastics, steel, and molded plywood.

Creation of my chair began with an extensive sketching process and exploring inspirational design styles by iconic designers like Eero Saarinen, Marcel Breuer, Hans Wagner, and Ludwig Mies van de Rohe. After deciding the most effective method of construction, I modeled my design in Rhino3D and worked out details (rendering pictured below).

I sand-cast the frame with aluminum and then polished it. The slats were designed in Rhino3D, cut by a CNC machine, and then sanded by hand. Each slat was bolted to the aluminum frame in two locations to prevent rotation and movement.

This is not the first chair I have fabricated in my past and my expectations of creating a comfortable piece were not met with this chair, sadly. I have always been told that designing a comfortable chair is one of the greatest challenges a designer will face. Fine aesthetics and craftsmanship may be achieved but it means nothing if the ergonomics fail. Back to the drawing board!

Dark Star Sound Machine

Hand-carved turntable concept based on the music of the Grateful Dead. The turntable features a direct-drive motor as well as digital device integration, merging music and technologies of past with the futuristic explorations.

Following extensive form exploration, I approached the beginning phase of this project like I was shaping a surfboard. This began with as a giant block of high density foam which was then shaped by hand and meticulously sanded to produce smooth, flowing, organic curves and surfaces.

The painting process started with primer and was then layered with several coats of Prizmacoat, a special iridescent paint that was sourced from Alsa Corporation, a high-end paint company in Los Angeles. Prizmacoat contains a unique paint pigment additive which explodes into a myriad of colors and hues when viewed in sunlight or under direct incandescent light. I sealed this colored coat with several layers of clearcoat for protection and gloss.

Patagonia Bistro Table

Designed and created for a Patagonia bistro concept. The surface includes a laser-etched topographic map and compass. The base is powder coated steel that I cut and welded.

Cycling shoe concept

Road cycling shoe concept designed for Specialized Bicycles. This was created following my internship at New Balance as a Footwear Designer.

This technical illustration was created in Illustrator following form sketching. The goal of this concept was to create a functional road cycling shoe that provided users with a reliable and aesthetically-pleasing footwear for training and racing. A sleek form factor combined with aerodynamic material choices
